For most short 4B/4C styles, you won’t need extra products CurlFoam alone on damp hair is usually enough. But if you’re used to full routines, you can still slot it in as your main styler.

CurlFoam is made for short 4B/4C curls and coils, but it can also be used on long 4C and other curl types. On long 4C hair, it works best as a soft, moisturizing styler and may need a leave-in or gel on top if you want very strong, long-lasting definition. On looser curls (3A–4A), CurlFoam usually gives great definition and volume on its own.

Most cheap mousses are built to dry fast and feel strong, so they lean on:

High levels of drying alcohols

Basic film-forming polymers

Not much real conditioning

That’s why a lot of people end up with crunchy, dry, shrunken hair and random flakes.

It’s made specifically with 4B/4C curls and coils in mind especially short hair and fades so you’re not fighting dryness or a hard helmet just to get definition.

Simple routine:

1. Start on clean, damp hair (towel- or T-shirt-dried, not dripping).
   
2. Pump 2–4 pumps of CurlFoam into your hands (more if your hair is longer or very dense).
   
3. Rub hands together and work it through evenly from roots to ends.
   
4. Style: For short curls/twists: use a curl sponge in circles or finger coils.
   For longer curls: scrunch or rake through.
   
5. Let your hair air dry or sit under a dryer.
   
6. Don’t touch too much while it’s drying let it set first.
   

You can use CurlFoam by itself on damp hair. No extra creams or gels are required for it to work.

4B/4C curls and coils, especially short hair / fades / sponge curls / mini twists

It can also be used on:
Long 4C hair – works as a soft, moisturizing styler; for super-strong, root-to-tip definition you may still want to layer with a leave-in or gel.

3A–4A curls – usually gives great definition + volume by itself.

Waves (type 2) – light curl enhancement, frizz control, and some hold.

Yes, CurlFoam is designed to be safe for:

Color-treated hair

Chemically-treated hair (e.g., texturizers, perms)

The formula direction avoids harsh sulfates and is built around conditioning, moisture, and soft hold, not stripping.

That said, if your hair is very damaged or freshly processed, you should always:

Keep your wash routine gentle, and

Patch-test any new product if your scalp is sensitive.
